| | | Find black plastic picture frames and more here! | myLot Discussions| Do you prefer digital or analog watches? | | I think most of us have watches. Assuming you have not relegated the role of timekeeper to your mobile phone, you would likely be wearing a watch when you are out of the house. What is your favorite type of watch? A digital one showing LED digital numbers? Or an analog one that shows an "old-fashioned" clock face? For me, I prefer the analog one. Maybe I am just an antique myself lol. What about you? | |
| | I don't like the black colour | | (First of all this is not a racist comment) I don't like to wear black clothes. I don't like that my students use black plastic covers on their copybooks. I never use black pens. I don't like to wear black even for funerals. I do associate the black colour with death. Do you like the black colour?

| | Black Friday: What was your experience? Good or Bad? | | Would you believe that I have never ventured out on a Black Friday? I avoided shopping or even leaving the house for fear it would suddenly become too crowded to drive or too wild to even get a gallon of milk. But today, I decided to tough it out for the first time...just for fun. What can I say I have missed if I have never involved myself in?
What I have learned today!!!!
I did not know that WalMart would keep everything covered until 5am with a worker by each pallet ready to cut the black plastic at exactly 5:00a.m.
I knew one of the big men by the 50" Plasmas DTV but I kept my distance because the crowd was like a pack of vampires ready to pounce once the vein was cut. And sadly, the vein was barely nicked...or sorry, he just began to cut the plastic when the crowd did not even wait and started to grab everything from the pallet. There were boxes being swung this way and that and this poor big guy I knew that worked at WalMart tried to get away after being slammed in the face with a box, leaving him black and blue and swollen!
I could not believe that within 20 seconds, every single TV and other items on pallets that I had no clue to what was behind the black plastic was... | |
| | Do Your In-Laws Annoy You At Times? | | Don't get me wrong. I love my in-laws...but to a point! In the past they have helped us financially when hubby was made redundant (he has another job now), helped us installing the kitchen, upgraded our yard so our plants look better...allsorts they have helped us with and there is no-one more pleased about this than me but...They spend money like it is going out of fashion even though they keep telling me they are "less well off than they used to be." They also know that me and hubby are strapped for cash and I can't help thinking they are showing off at times.I have told people on here that I am extremely bad at selling things. Not so the in-laws. They bought a new three piece leather suite in a strange colour ("because it was reduced") that doesn't go with the decor and sold their old suite to a Polish couple for £100. They will now have to re-decorate (especially the carpet) if they want everything to match...and they will, it's only a matter of time! The last time we visited them my mother-in-law showed me her new chandalier. It was black, made out of shiny plastic, from Argos. It totally dominates the room! She then told me the old light fitting is upstairs. No... | |
| | Fall clean up started | | This is a shot of the bagged wood chip mulch from just one of my flower beds. And that area is still not cleaned fully. I usually end up with about 15 bags of wood chips and maybe 30 of leaves. This year I've been mowing over the leaves though to try and save on bagging tem. Plus January first theres a new law that recycle centers and other places will not take the black plastic bags as they are not recyclable. So after the first of the year we have to have the green or clear bags for yard waste and recycle items. Do you have this law yet in your area? Are you cleaning your yard, flower beds/gardens/lawn for the fall yet?

| | It has been a month now........... | | Since the last discussion on bed bugs was created. I want to share my story with the little buggers, and attempt to explain why they are back. When I first moved back to the Chrleston area, I lived in a shelter or a couple months. Unbenonced to me, the place was infested with bed bugs. They do not tell you this when you first move in. At first they didn't bother me, didn't get bit, I didn't even see any. Till one day I was sitting on my bed, and I seen what I thougt was a tick crawling on my bed!! I freaked!! I am terrified of ticks. One of my room mates told me, that it wasn't a tick, it was a bed bug!! HUH???????? Oh noooooooo. And yes, to me, I had heard about them, but only in the mannor "good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite" That was my experience with them. Till then. All along, the staff at the shelter was treating them, but nothng seemed to work, then they started steaming and freezing places they were, well, that just made them mad!![em]angry[/em] And that is when they started to attack me!![em]shocked[/em] I am like "Hey, it wasn't me!!" lol they didn't listen. It got to the point that I couldn't sleep at night, because I was getting bit 30 - 40... | |
| | hahaha, silly me again.... | | well most of you know that i have a couple of cats, one is Max who is ginger and white, and the other is Lottie who is pure black, WELL, she has her place on the window ledge and loves to spend her time sitting there looking out of the window, Max has just come in for his feed and usually Lottie follows him seconds later, but she didn't, so i assumed that she was sitting on the window ledge, so i draws the curtain back and i saw a black object on the ledge, so i calls her, but she didn't move, i calls her again, still nothing, after a couple of times i decided to leave her coz she may be asleep, so a few moments later i draws the curtain back further and guess what i saw? LMAO...a black plastic bin liner that i kept the easter eggs in the other day...HAHAHA..[em]lol[/em]..ok so i am losing it, so there i am talking to a black plastic bin liner, and in trots Lottie....now i feel VERY silly....LOL....[em]lol[/em][em]lol[/em] has anyone ever done that before? lol...i do feel very silly indeed... | |
| | i had to get out of the contaminated water. i walked across the room naked. | | when i woke up this morning it was from a strange dream. had a guy, tom, i have known for 16 years in it. when i met tom i was in the 7th grade and he was a year older. all through school we were acquantiances. never dated or really hung out together, although we flirted a bit. after i was out of school i didnt ever run into him for a couple years. i married and found out that he was my (ex)hubbys cousin and they were close. the three of us worked together for about a year. tom was on my team at work and we worked next right next to eachother. we talked and had a good time at work. my ex and i started having trouble in the marriage, tom was concerned and talked to both of us about it. he ended up taking my side even though i told him blood was thicker than water. after my divorce we ran into eachother again. he asked me for my # and although i sholdnt have i gave it to him i did, but the same day he and his wife made up for the kid that he had raised even though he wasnt his. thats great. everyone needs a daddy. anyway i have seen him out and about a couple times, we always say hi but thats about it. i havent thought about him for close to 5 years now. now that you have a... | |

| | What do you do with your magazines and catalogs? | | I have a mess by my husband's recliner. We have a beautiful end table but it is full of magazines and catalogs underneath. I have tried a large basket and they wouldn't stay organized. Now they are stacked in 2 piles on the bottom shelf of the end table. I do have a few in the black plastic magazine holders. Hmmm... that's a thought, I could buy more of them and line them up on the bottom shelf. Don't know how that would look.I go through them and toss the ones that are expired and old but they seem to pile up so fast. I do not like the way they look under the table. It reminds me of a doctor's office with all them magazines piled up. LOLWhat are youe suggestions. Thanks in advance. | |
