Protecting book covers... do you wrap them in clear plastic cover?
i have this inner drive to protect my book covers from tears, stains and folds that i spend countless hours carefully wrapping each book, whether a textbook or novel in clear plastic cover. this through the years, protected the covers and they look as new.how about you? what do you do to protect your books?
Where can I buy Clear Plastic Fabric??????
Can someone please tell me where I can buy clear plastic material - the kind that is suitable for making shower caps, raincoats, etc.cheersJacqui1
Do you use coasters at home?
For on your coffee table or on any item of furniture where you may sit a drink? What do these coasters look like? Are they plain & cheap like me..no sorry mine! Or are they expensive & fancy? My coasters are black, square & very plain. They are made out of something soft, who knows what & could easily be cut with scissors. We rarely use them even tho they are sat on the coffee table. They are more for decoration rather than to be used for what they are meant.Coast by & tell us yer story[em]cool[/em]
Tableclothes why they need washing more after you first bt them
A couple of years ago we got a nice tablecloth from my son for Christmas and it lasted two weeks before we had to wash it. However, after I washed it, it would get dirty in just a couple of days and I do not mean bread crumbs that we could shake off, I mean the stains stayed on longer. Has this happened to you? The reason is that we bought another one for Thanksgiving. So far, it has not needed any washing, but I do not want to do it every couple of days. So do they put a filler on tablecloths before they sell them and is that the reason?
my 4 cats
The personality of my cats can be seen from how they use the catflap.Shy, quiet Sylvie sneaks in and out with no sound at all. Bruiser hangs in/out of the flap and has a good inspection before the flap clangs shut behind his bottom. Brainbox inspects the world through the clear plastic of the flap then hops in/out Floozie typically hits the flap at speed and b/long is in/out. You can always tell which cat has come home! Do your cats have a typical way of using a cat flap?
Reusing containers
What sort of containers do you reuse?Usually around here I reuse coffee cans. They come in handy for small painting jobs, storing the kids crayons and markers in them.I take this weeks container of juice and wash it out and use it to make a canned juice or koolaid ect in it and when the container has seen several uses I toss it into the recycling bin. Also keeps me from having to find room in my small kitchen to store a pitcher I don't always use constantly either.I also cut down milk jugs to use as water trays for the rabbits so they'll leave my plants alone. Or to cover up my new little plants sprouting up in spring & early summer. My aunt likes to reuse most every container she gets sometimes a lil too much as she rinses out old deli meat bags and uses them instead of buying zip bags. If it wasn't for the meat being in them I'd use them perhaps myself. She also takes margerine tubs and clear plastic bakery containers/boxes and saves those to give out her holiday baking in.
A plastic bag full of water is the kiss of death
to flies. I kid you not.[em]lol[/em] I slipped out today to get some jerk chicken for lunch. I know - I am on a roll spending money these days what with buying a BB etc.Anyway, the jerk chicken and pork at this place is fabulous and it is cooked outside in front of you with lots of other food. A foodie's heaven.[em]thumbup[/em]Well, at the counter I saw lots of clear plastic bags three quarters full of water.[em]confused[/em]Admittedly I had seen this before but forgot the reason for them being there. When I enquired I was told that the bags of water kept away flies and other insects. It was true - there wasn't a fly to be seen in the whole place. Do you understand how this works because I don't? Have you ever used plastic bags of water to keep away flies before?
anyone seen the Crank 2: High Voltage??
this is the most insane and outrageous movie i've ever seen this year!it has been rated as R due to a strong used of pervasive languange, sexual content and bloody violence.one of the cool scene was when the heart still beating as it was taken out of a Chelios (Jason Statham) replacing it with a clear plastic artificial heart...that was super cool!another issue, music in this movie was too far to be associated with the certain scenes, what do you think??
Which one is your favorite? Homemade or Boxed snack brownies?
I love the homemade kind much better. When it is cooked right out of the oven that is when it is best served. I have tried the brownies that are in the box, and it is noting as delicious as the one that is made. I love the hot cooked oven taste. The brownies in the box are imitation. I love walnut brownies. And I love when they are cold, placed in a clear plastic container. I love them being very firm and soft. I love them being very chewy and sweet. I also like the chocolate glaze that is on the outside of the brownie, this gives it a delicious mouth watering flavor. So, which kind of brownies do you like better, Homemade or Boxed snack brownies?
how can you stop cat licking ointment off it's back
I've just brought my cat back from the vets, he has an abcess on his back which has to have ointment put on it. The vet said I have to stop the cat licking this, and he gave me a collar to put on. It's one of those clear plastic Elizabethan collars, but the cat can't do anything in it - it's driving him nuts. I've now put the collar on the other way round for now - so that the wide bit is towards his back, but it would be handy to know if anyone has any ideas about another way to stop him licking.
