| | myLot Discussions| Heart Shaped Sugar Cookies | | With frosting and sprinkles!!This is what I made for hubby for Valentine's day. This is my first time making sugar cookies from scratch, or making any sort of cut out cookie from scratch, and I am very pleased with how it came out. My only regret is that the only heart shaped cookie cutter I could get was very large, so it didn't make as many cookies as I would have liked. I wanted to send a bunch into work with him tomorrow, but what you see in this picture is basically all the cookies there are.Minus the one that I ate to make sure they were good, and there are 4 others not pictured here, on those I wrote little love notes to hubby. Nothing much, because I couldn't fit anything big. On one cookie I wrote our initials, on another the word love, on another the word 4-Ever, and on the last some X's and O's. They don't look as nice as the ones in the picture, but they're even more special. I'm quite pleased with myself tonight! There's nothing like a gift from the heart that you put so much time and effort into for the one you love.Are you going to bake something special for your special someone? | |
| | Those Heart Shaped Tomatoes! | | I posted a discussion adn photo of a heart shaped tomato I picked from my yard. Comes to find out it is a variety called, "Patio Tomato". These tomatoes are popular for use in containers, hanging baskets and garden or patio locations where space is limited. Because more people now live where traditional vegetable gardening is not possible, container and patio gardens have become more popular. Their ornamental value is an added benefit and their fruit quality has recently been improved as well. According to the tag I have with it in my garden it is Patio Hybrid harvest, 65 days; 3 ounces; strong dwarf plants, relatively large fruit. But I planted this is my garden and they are doin very well as this photo shows. Have you grown a patio/container plant in your garden and it thrived very well? What type was it?

| | Heart Shaped Tomato | | I saw this growing amonst my early girl tomatoes. I think it looks like a heart. Don't you? The shadow takes away a lot from it's shape thouigh in this shot. I gave it to my wife telling her to have my heart once more. Have you ever grown a strange shaped fruit or veggie at all? If not what is the starngest shaped food you've seen? But once you know the answer, you'll be glad you did.:)ANATOMICALLY SPEAKING...The coronal cut of the heart, meaning dividing it from the posterior[back] and anterior[front], you can form a heart shape. MORPHOLOGICALLY SPEAKING...If you'll trace the veins and arteries surrounding the heart, you can form a heart shape there.That's it.THANK YOU SO MUCH TO MR.
