| Do you get good customer service from your grocery store? | | I felt that I should write a little account of the great customer service I get from my local supermarket - which is actually a Sainsbury's store.I went there yesterday and was looking for some poppy seeds, I searched and searched but couldn't find them so asked an assistant if she knew if they stocked them.
She spent quite a while looking and then came back with a large plastic tub full of poppy seeds.
The shop didn't actually stock poppy seeds but they did use them in the bakery, s she got me a tub of them from the bakery and they were free of charge.
I thought that was really good service.

| | When people make promises then break them..... | | We moved into this house last August and decided to rent the house from these landlords who can't seem to keep their words. We are very good with paying rent and have never been late and keep their house in very good condition so they are happy with us for that reason.
Last November when it began to get cold out and the weather was changing it's season to winter, our pipes froze and we didn't have water for about three days. The morning we realised that we had no water, we called the landlords and told them what was going on. Three days later, they sent over a plumber. This house has no basement and has two crawl spaces. One is located by our bedroom but in the big closet and the other is in the bathroom. The plumber decided to leave a little heater under the crawl space by our bedroom in the big closet and leave it there for a few hours to see if it would thaw out the pipes and get the water working again.
When the plumber came back, he noticed that the pipes were still frozen and still no water and that was about 5pm. Him and his assistant took the little safety heater to the other crawl space located in the bathroom and put it in there. While he was down under the crawl...
| | State Snow Globes | | Hi! Greetings from upper Mair-lin! (That's how we pronounce "Maryland" in our state. Cool huh?)Ah...Maryland. The lan of nonexistent __'s and extra stress on the AARE!!! sound. Yep. There's no other place forme but here. AND F--KING HONOLULU!@ Honoluluans: pardon the French...
@ the French: pardon me holding you accountable for Honolulu outburst.
But I have to admit... You guyswere my inspiration. Be proud.

To get to the point, I bring myself to the 'Lot today because Maryland looks like a huge snow globe right now... on my weekend. The weekend before I start college.Juustspec-TAC-U-lar...See,Maryland is one of thosecollector snow globes. Not intentionally trying to be a state snob (even though Maryland isclearly the best), so let me explain:Some people aregifted snow globes. Some peoplebuy snow globes. Some peoplebuy snow globes asgifts. Some people buy snow globes forthemselves. The difference between said actions here? Snow globe quality.Le--t me explain.Snow globes have been around...

| Does your cat do this...... | | Does your cat intinally knock over a box and then fall asleep in it. My cats do this and it drives me crazy. There is a large plastic crate in the kids toyroom that I keep my daughters dolls in. Well every day its on the floor with all her dolls and My Little Ponys scattered everywhere. But there ismnt anyone around so I couldnt figure out what was going on. When I would ask my kids they said they didnt do it. Well this morning I found my culprit, our kitten Mario. I walked in and there was a mess with the box turned over and he was sleeping in the box. So I left him there but once he decides to leave I will pick up the mess and move the box. But not only do they get in boxs they will jump up on shelves and sleep whether its empty or not. Mario decided to sleep on my daughters shelf with all her Hello Kittys on it. Cleaned up the mess but will keep the door closed.
Is this part of a cats personality or is it my cats are out to get me lol.
Any suggestions on keeping them off of shelves or boxrs that have vaulables in or on them?

| | Which brand is best??? | | If you use brewed coffee which brand and type do you like best?? I normally use the medium roast of whichever is cheaper out of Folger's or Maxwell House. I can't reall find a difference even between them and store brands. I just buy them because they come in a very large plastic container that I can use easier than the giant cans the store brands come in. I need big containers to last a while. So what do you think?? Is there a differnce among brands and which is your favorite?? | |
| | Want to save your planet? | | I have a few ideas.
I'm not a professional, I'm just giving what I think is good advice.
Here goes ........
I recycle as much of my waste as I can.I use a lot of my household waste in my compost heap at the end of my back garden.
The rest of my recycleable waste goes into a special recycle bin(our bins alternate every week, we have two, one grey one blue. One week its ordinary waste that can not be recycled, that goes on to landfill. The next week its the recycle bin.
I usually put in paper, aliminium cans and tins, and plastics (clean). Then we recycle our glass bottles (I got a large plastic crate for that).
I bring them myself to local bottle banks, (you'd see them a lot near shopping centres).I use good lightbulbs that dont use up too much electricty. When your not in a room just turn off your lights, that helps too.I always use cloth and hard wearing shopping bags (you can buy them from most stores). I aways keep them in the car and in my utility room ready for use.I have a battery recharger. Its expensive at first but then you never need to buy them again, battries are expensive in any way, so you save too in the long run.I recycle my old mobiles...

| How to know if you're ready for kids!!!!! | | At sometime in our lives we all say that there should be a test for people to have kids well here you go!!!MESS TEST
Smear peanut butter on the sofa and curtains. Place a fish stick behind the couch and leave it there all summer. TOY TEST
Obtain a 55-gallon box of Legos (or you may substitute roofing tacks). Have a friend spread them all over the house. Put on a blindfold. Try to walk to the bathroom or kitchen. Do not scream because this would wake a child at night. GROCERY STORE TEST
Borrow one or two small animals (goats are best) and take them with you as you shop. Always keep them in sight and pay for anything they eat or damage. DRESSING TEST
Obtain one large, unhappy, live octopus. Stuff into a small net bag making sure that all the arms stay inside. FEEDING TEST
Obtain a large plastic milk jug. Fill halfway with water. Suspend from the ceiling with a cord. Start the jug swinging. Try to insert spoonfuls of soggy cereal into the mouth of the jug, while pretending to be an airplane. Now dump the contents of the jug on the floor. NIGHT TEST
Prepare by obtaining a small cloth bag and fill it with 8-12 pounds of sand. Soak it thoroughly in water....
| | Most exciting purchase today | | What is the most exciting thing you purchased todayFor me It started with approximately 5 gallons of British Petrollium
Followed almost immediately by a small Milky Way Bar
Then was then a fallow period after which at lunch time I bought some chewing gum.
But this was nothing compared to the highlight of the day. I purchased a large plastic Dung Beetle money box from a second hand shop which I happened to pass on the way home.
It now contains 5 whole pence.cheers
Mogant | |
| | Mango | | Well it is mango season in my country. Everywhere you turn there is mango smell. From the little baby to the grannies them eating mango. There are so many types of mangoes, such as julie, east indian, hairy, blackie, bamberry etc. Once I used to enjoyed eating this fruit but one day while working at a store a customer brings one large plastic bag of mango and we decide to put it in a plastic tub. Man when my ex co-workers them ready if eat them it just turn me off. Since them the scent alone makes me cringe. But mango nectar, mango jam, and the juice are so enjoyable to drink and spread on bread it is really something to try. So are you a mango lover?[em]happy[/em] | |

| Beware of goblins and ghosties and things that go bump in the night | | Have you ever been all alone in your apartment or house at night and suddenly you keep hearing odd irritating little noises so you go room to room to be sure all is well and then you chide yourself for being paranoid as thefront door is still locked?i had a similar experience the other night.I was alone andit was late and I kept hearing these snuffling, gritty, odd littlenoises like someone dragging something. I did a thorough search and of course noone was there and the frontdoor was locked. Iheard it again outside so I unlocked the front door and there was the fattest possum I have ever seen with a half eaten chicken leg dangling from his mouth. He had ripped open my large plastic garbage bag and pulled out the first meat scrap he could find. He gave me a glare then slowly ambled across the patio, slid under the fence and was gone. we live on the edge of tustin and wild creatures do come down from the hills late at night.ordinarily we do not leave our plastic garbage sacks out on the patio at night but we have a big problem with enough space in the dumpsters we have here for one hundred twenty families and have been forced lately to store our plastic sacks outside until we... | |
